SAN JOSE, Calif., September 24, 2019 –Tachyum, a semiconductor startup and developer of the world’s first Universal Processor platform today announced the opening of its new, larger corporate headquarters in Santa Clara to better accommodate rapidly growing number of customers, partners, vendors and its growing personnel ranks. The new offices are located at 2520 Mission College Blvd, Suite 201, Santa Clara CA 95054.
Tachyum’s new facilities will better enable the company to finish development, start marketing and selling its disruptive products that tackle the most pressing global issues in data centers, AI, telecommunications, edge computing and mobility today. Tachyum’s new offices comprise 10,000 sq. ft. of modern Class-A offices capable of accommodating 80 people, an internal datacenter, laboratories and Q&A infrastructure.Tachyum continues to seek and hire high-talent engineers and system architects to join the Tachyum team.
Dr. Radoslav Danilak, Founder and CEO of Tachyum said: “Santa Clara is world epicenter of processor development, and Tachyum found its rightful place there with Intel, AMD and nVidia. This new facility will enable us to consolidate our US-based staff in one campus and provide the additional space needed to accommodate our aggressive expansion plans. We are installing world-class product development and test facilities that will enable us to deliver exceptional product to the cloud data center industry, and other vertical markets, such as automotive and telecommunications. Not only do we have a great new location, comprised of state-of-the-art workspace and conference rooms, but the new offices will also enable us to bring in more world class talent that will support our future development work.”
Igor Shevlyakov, Tachyum co-founder and VP of Software, said: “The new Tachyum R&D facility will include advanced data center configurations that permit integration and analysis of both hardware and software applications, as well as data management tools and networking. We are also working with strategic partners to leverage this new workspace and to facilitate increased collaboration on advanced technologies and products.”
Tachyum’s Prodigy Universal Processor Chip is the smallest and fastest general purpose, 64-core processor developed to date, requiring 10x less processor power, and reducing processor cost by 3x. Prodigy will directly enable a 32-Tensor Exaflop supercomputer and allow the building of machines more powerful than the human brain by 2021, years ahead of industry expectations. Prodigy reduces data center TCO (annual total cost of ownership) by 4x, through its disruptive processor architecture and a smart compiler that has made many parts of the hardware found in typical processors redundant. Fewer transistors, fewer and shorter wires, due to a smaller, simpler core, translates into much greater speed and power efficiency for the Prodigy processor.
Tachyum’s new location is part of Santa Clara Park at Freedom Center, a 26 acre campus with 12 single and two-story buildings, outdoor workspaces, onsite dining, and surrounded by quiet, wooded outdoor areas suitable for relaxation. Onsite parking at Tachyum’s new offices includes an area specifically set aside for auto detailing, and several electric vehicle charging stations.

Named for the Greek prefix “tachy,” meaning speed, combined with the suffix “-um,” indicating an element (e.g. lithium), Tachyum is meant to evoke the notion of “an element of speed”. Tachyum emerged from stealth mode in 2017 to engineer disruptive intelligent information processing products. Tachyum’s founders have a track record of solving problems caused by device physics in semiconductors, to deliver transformational products to global markets, and are backed by IPM Growth, the Central & Eastern European venture capital platform, as Tachyum’s lead investor.
