CAMPBELL, Calif., August 2, 2017 - Dr. Radoslav “Rado” Danilak, CEO of Silicon Valley startup Tachyum Inc., is among the invited speakers at Flash Memory Summit, presenting at Session 203-C as part of the Flash in Cloud Computing Track August 9 at 3:20 p.m. in the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.
Danilak’s presentation, entitled, “Going Mainstream with Low-Cost, Flash-Only Data Centers,” will discuss the emergence of a new technology and chipset that will allow vendors to produce high-speed, flash-based data centers at prices below the cost of data centers which rely on hard drives.
“Worldwide demand for cloud data storage and cloud computing services keep accelerating with no end in sight,” said Danilak. “According to some market analysts, up to 80 percent of the future flash storage market will come from only a few hyper-users, such as cloud providers, mega-websites and hyperscale data centers. Therefore, vendors must produce what these megacustomers want. My presentation at FMS, will show how vendors can offer high performance, low latency, high availability, while slashing server and storage CAPEX, reducing server and storage power consumption, and decreasing hardware footprint to benefit providers and customers alike.”
Veteran Silicon Valley entrepreneur Dr. Rado Danilak is well known as an innovator in bringing low cost flash to consumer and enterprise markets, on the strength of his landmark Flash Memory Controller Chip developed at SandForce and his game changing ultra-dense all flash arrays at Skyera. Now Dr. Danilak has his sights set on hyperscale Data & Cloud Computing Centers with his latest venture, Tachyum. Danilak and a group of industry veterans are designing a high performance, ultra-low power Cloud Chip, aimed directly at the hyperscale data center market.
Tachyum is designing a high-performance, ultra-low power Cloud Chip aimed directly at the hyperscale data center market. By tightly integrating networking, storage, artificial intelligence, cloud and big data processing, Tachyum’s Cloud Chip is expected to reduce data center compute & storage hardware CAPEX by 3x, TCO by 4x and hardware power consumption by 10-15x.
The Flash Memory Summit program consists of a day of pre-conference seminars, followed by three days of panel discussions, keynotes, forums, paper sessions, tutorials, updates and special session to provide attendees with practical information on the current state of solid state memory and its applications.
