SAN JOSE, Calif., March 26, 2019 – Dr. Radoslav Danilak, Co-founder and CEO of Tachyum Inc., will be a featured panelist for an “Innovative Technologies” session at the 72nd HPC User Forum at La Fonda on the Plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico April 3 at 1:30 p.m.
Danilak will educate attendees about the unprecedented capabilities of the world’s first universal processor chip. Tachyum’s Prodigy chip reduces data center cost and power needs through new proprietary processor architecture that has made many parts of the hardware found in a typical processor redundant. Fewer transistors and shorter wires, due to a smaller core, translates into much greater speed and much lower power requirements for the processor. The ultra-low power Prodigy processor, will allow system integrators to build a 32 tensor Exaflops AI supercomputer. This will enable users to simulate, in real-time, human brain-sized Neural Networks in 2020.
“I am excited to share with those in attendance of the ‘Innovative Technologies’ session at the HPC User Forum details about how we’ve developed the world’s smallest and fastest general-purpose, 64-bit processor that requires 10x less power and reduces processor costs by 3x,” said Danilak. “Our new proprietary processor architecture was purpose built to unlock unprecedented performance, power efficiency and cost advantages needed to solve the most complex problems facing the high-performance computing industry today.”
Established in 1999 to promote the health of the global HPC industry and address issues of common concern to users, the HPC User Forum hosts meetings four times annually in the United States and internationally. Thousands of individuals representing hundreds of organizations have attended meetings as speakers or active audience members. Unlike most other HPC events, the HPC User Forum focuses primarily on important issues – characterizing them, openly discussing them, and acting where possible to address them. Named for the Greek prefix “tachy,” meaning speed, combined with the suffix “-um,” indicating an element (e.g. lithium), Tachyum is meant to evoke the notion of “an element of speed”. Tachyum emerged from stealth mode in 2017 to engineer disruptive intelligent information processing products. Tachyum’s founders have a track record of solving problems caused by device physics in semiconductors, to deliver transformational products to global markets, and are backed by IPM Growth, the Central & Eastern European venture capital platform, as Tachyum’s lead investor.
